M.D. is a boy. We've known this since he was only 20 weeks gestation. It was pretty obvious...biologically speaking. It still is. He's definitely a boy. The funny thing is...now that he's reached almost 7 month of age he's a boy in a totally different way. He is 100%, no questions asked, undeniably a BOY. We hear it all of the time. Oh my gosh he is SUCH a boy! It's funny...partly because it seems like a silly statement (of course he's a boy) but also because M.D. is so "boy" that it's obvious to anybody who observes his behavior for only a few minutes. He still is of the age where he could pass for a girl by looks alone. He doesn't have much hair...he still has the baby face that could be either a sweet little boy or sweet little girl, but he leaves no room for questioning. This is definitely a boy we are dealing with.
What do I mean?
What do I mean?
Let's just take a quick peek at M.D.'s favorite activities as of the moment.
1) Pulling hair (dogs, Mom's, Dad's...everybody's)
2) Throwing things (he particularly likes to throw things off of his highchair) He will throw
anything you put in front of him. It's 100% predictable that anything you put in his hands
he will throw within 5 minutes.
3) Knocking Things Over (M.D. loves when I stack a bunch of blocks...he doesn't even wait
for me to stack more than a few before he completely demolishes the stack)
4) General Rough-Housing (No...we don't wrestle M.D....yet. But he loves when I growl at
him and pretend to eat his stomach/arms/legs/hands. Ironically, this all started one
Saturday when I was watching a marathon of The Walking Dead and decided to
pretend to be a zombie, eating M.D....yup...T.V. warps your mind...it's now his favorite
activity for me to be a flesh-eating zombie coming after him. Whoops!)

5) Getting Messy (It should be clarified, this also includes the fact that he doesn't really like getting clean. M.D. loves to smear food EVERYWHERE, and dislikes face-wiping, ear cleaning, and other general grooming activities. He now is coming around when it comes to bathtime because he has discovered "splashing".
M.D.'s alltime favorite activity is "cleaning house". No, he
doesn't actually clean the house. But he loves when I stack lots of toys in front him...either on the highchair, bouncy chair, ottomon, etc. and he (as quickly as possible) throws them all on the floor at once. It is then expected that we are to pick up said toys, put them back, and do it again.

Don't get me wrong...M.D. also has his sweet little boy moments. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. He is irresistable. I'm just not sure I'm ready to deal with all this BOY is going to bring. If he's this gender-defined already I can only imagine what is next. Snakes being brought in from the yard..mud all over my house...YIKES!
We ended up purchasing the duck bath for M.D. It seemed like the perfect fit for what we need and I found it at Target for less than $12 (SCORE!) We haven't used it to bathe him yet...he wasn't due for a bath last night, but we did discover it's an excellent toy when not in use for bathing purposes. M.D. loved sitting in it with his toys and being dragged around the house. He thought he was in a parade.
