My Dad probably just read that blog title and said to himself, What kind of crazy story is she about to tell? And who the hell is Edward Cullen?! So, for my dad, and any other of you who have lived under a rock for the past 6 years...THIS is Edward Cullen.
AHHHH....dreamy......and also, a vampire.
One of my favorite stories about the Edward Cullen character came from a friend of mine who was working as a youth director at a church. One of her "youth", after seeing the Twilight movie, came to youth group seriously distraught. She exclaimed to my friend, Edward was SOOOO much hotter in the BOOK! Love it. Makes me laugh everytime I even think about it.
ANYWAYS.
Back to my birthing of Edward Cullen. I clearly don't feel this way because M.D. LOOKS like Edward. But they have one MAJOR commonality....biting.
Yes, I am the mother of a biter.
It's awful.
I went to pick up M.D. from daycare yesterday and was informed that he had bit another child.
BIT ANOTHER CHILD!
He left a bruse on the boy's arm.
Not only that...but they had caught him 2 other times TRYING to bite him, and stopped it before it could happen. Then that little vampire baby of mine snuck up behind the poor, defenseless child and chomped down.
I was MORTIFIED.
We discussed the possible tactics we could use for future prevention. We agreed on a strategy of being very diligent in our catching of the behavior and making it very clear (through verbal cues) that it is not acceptable behavior.
It's still not fun.
I don't want my kid to bite!
That's mean...and even though the other child won't remember tomorrow (he's also only 1 year old), his parents sure as hell are going to remember.
How could such a sweet, cuddly, little boy bite?!

Wait...I'll show you...
Now...come a LITTLE closer...but be careful!
BOOM! That's it. That is why. Look at that mouth full of chompers.
Kind of reminds me of this:

Okay, not really. But I'm pretty sure that's what the other little boy (Baby G) was thinking yesterday at daycare.
Maybe we should start playing the jaws theme when he starts to sneak up for the bite.
Nope...that's encouragement.
But it'd be funny.
But wrong. So we won't do it!
Okay...maybe ONE time, we'll do it one time! :)

See that video still? That's M.D. in the background...with his buddy Baby G in the foreground. He's smoking...so don't show the video to his mom.
You've gotta watch that clip, if nothing else it's an awesome movie scene and it's Friday...so treat yourself :)
This weekend's goal: NO MORE BITING
Seeing as "Sleep Training Weekend" and "No More Bottles Weekend"s were both successful, I'd say we're due for a loss, but you never know :)
HAPPY FRIDAY!!
