After a seemingly long absence I am back to the blog to update on what we did over the Easter weekend. First of all, I got a long, 4-day weekend. Our daycare provider took Friday & Monday off for the holiday so I stayed home with little M.D.
We had lots of playtime and M.D. helped me back our bags for the Easter trip to Nana's house. He took lots of naps on Friday which made my day WAYYYY easier. I could actually get things accomplished...miracle.
The downturn on Friday was that Steven hurt his back at work. I mean BAD. Like, can't get out of bed Saturday morning bad. Thank GOD I got almost everything accomplished on Friday that we needed done before leaving for the weekend.
Once we got to Nana's house the fun really began! M.D. got to have lots of playtime with Nana and then his cousins came over to hang out. His cousin Gabe showed him how to play with trucks. M.D. was a big fan of trucks with Gabe. I was especially happy because I was out of our house (meaning no chores) and I had help with M.D. since Steven was down for the count.
Easter Sunday was a huge undertaking...at least the morning. We got all 3 kids (under age 4) ready for church and out the door on time. It was an Easter Miracle. To top it off, M.D. sat through mass without a peep. NOT A PEEP. I couldn't believe it. Maybe he just doesn't like Lutheran services? Either way, Jesus rose. PHEW! M.D.'s cousins helped him find his Easter basket and his favorite part was the Easter grass inside. Of course it was. Why did the Easter bunny even fill that damn thing with toys? Easter grass was 50 cents a bag.
I broke down and bought M.D. an Easter outfit. No, not the dressy outfit all kids need to wear to church so they look like their parents have their shit together. Nope. An Easter Bunny outfit. I swore I wouldn't, but then I saw it, and I had to. My rationalization was that the outfit actually is super cute and soft and comfy so he has been wearing it for p.j.s since I purchased it and will continue to do so until he outgrows it. I'm a big fan. I've never seen a cuter Easter Bunny in my whole life.

Monday the shitstorm hit. M.D. got his first tooth (as recorded in this blog) on March 26th, 2013. He got his second tooth on April 1st, 2013. April Fools to me. What a nightmare. The poor kid has BARELY gotten over the pain and discomfort of that first tooth popping through when he suddenly has another one coming in hot. Monday was awful. No morning nap. Nevermind all of the laundry, unpacking, etc that needed to be done. There was screaming to attend to. Although, I did get him to cheer up by putting him in the laundry basket with his clean socks. Kids are so weird.
After finally getting him down for a nap, M.D. and I took a walk up the street to visit our neighbors. They are awesome. Same age as Steven & I, have kids, very nice. I forgot to ask M.D. before we left if he was up for a little visit. He would have said no. Like I said, I forgot to ask. The neighbor and I were allowed about 20 minutes of uninterrupted conversation before the screaming set in. Sobbing, screaming, nothing would help. We had to leave. M.D. decided. We WILL go back though....I am bound and determined! Just maybe not when he's had such a rough day to begin with.
M.D. headed back to Miss Michelle's house today. I asked Steven to warn her. He probably will have a not-so-great day again today. Fingers crossed for her that I'm wrong in my prediction.
