M.D. is 6 months old today. Holy Cow. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up! He had his 6 month appointment yesterday so I have his current stats on height/weight/etc.
Name: M.D.
Age: 6 months
Weight: 16lbs 14oz (This puts him in the 40% percentile for weight).
Length: 27.5" (This puts him in the 85% for length)
Eye Color: Bright Blue
Hair Color: Blonde (sticks straight out of his head like a mad scientist!)
Favorite Food: Sweet Potatoes
Favorite Toy: Books!! He loves "his" book (the indestructable book that he attempts to destroy everytime he sees it) and he's a HUGE fan of "Brown Bear What Do You See"
Favorite Game: Peek-a-Boo, and just giggling in general
Teeth?: Not yet
Mobility: Rolls from back-to-front & side-to-side, sit's up (with some assistance).
(Thinks he can sit up on his own so he already is getting frustrated that Mommy is helping him with everything...)
Likes: Talking, talking talking! Also loves his puppy Mila so much...it's adorable.
Dislikes: His inability to crawl (he gets a little frusturated in his attempts), sitting quietly when all he wants to do is go Go GO! :) He also has a very tumultuous relationship with a certain sunflower toy that sits on his jumper. That's a post all on it's own...
Our doctor's appointment was overall very successful. Steven and I had concerns about M.D.'s eczema but the doctor assured us it should clear up once the weather starts to change...which hopefully will be any day now???
We did have concerns about his head (flatness) so the doctor has recommended we start taking him to physical therapy to try to correct the issue. She also gave us a referral to a craniofacial plastics doctor at a large hospital in the metro area. He comes with not-the-best reputation for being personable but he is supposed to be the best in the area when it comes to children. Our doctor told us that she's only sending us to the specialist as a formality, but she does not believe he does or will need a helmet to correct his flat-headedness.
Thanks for being patient with my absence over the last 5 days! The wedding Steven & I attended was absolutely beautiful. We missed M.D. tremendously but were able to spend the whole weekend with him which was very nice....even though he did catch a little cold while we were gone :( There is absolutely nothing worse than listening to your baby try to breathe out of a stuffed nose.
