Baby throw up. It's like the worst combination of words you can possibly come up with. It's not spit-up...no...that seems like a day in paradise compared to the actual "throw up". It's not KID throw-up..where you have at least a 50% shot they're going to land most of the puke into a toilet/bucket/etc. Nope. Baby throw up. It takes no prisoners, just leaves a giant mess in its wake. It's like a natural disaster, but in your house.
M.D. got sick. Stomach Virus. AWFUL! Poor guy was just a mess.
We went to the State Fair for the morning and he just seemed a little off his game.

Our normally hyper active talkative baby was a little bit more dazed and confused than anything else that morning.
The storm was brewing.
It wasn't even 5 minutes after walking in the door that he threw up. All over me. It honestly didn't stop. It wasn't just "Bleh" and done. It just kept coming out. I finally got over the sink and he got the last of it in there.
I changed his clothes, he threw up on those.
I put him in the tub, dried him off. He threw up again.
We finally ended up, the two of us, sitting on the bathroom floor. He was in a diaper and throwing up on the floor. It's easier to clean than carpeting...and clothing...
5 hours in, the puking stopped. THANK GOD!
Then he was hungry. No. STARVING!
What to feed him?
Well, we had pedialyte so he tried that.

Once we realized that was staying down we switched over to the BRAT diet (thanks Nana for the info!). Basically it entails only feeding 4 foods: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast. You stick with those 4 to try to prevent more throwing up.
We started with toast. He ate a whole slice.
More Pedialyte.
Still hungry (I mean SCREAMING for food).
We tried Bananas.
He ate TWO WHOLE BANANAS.
I was thinking...this is all going to suck really bad when he throws it back up.
But he didn't. THANK GOD!
It all stayed down. And he was happy.

This was not the end of our woeful tale.
No.
Then the rash came (and the "runs")
The rash was the biggest concern because daycares require all rashes be examined by a doctor before the child can return to daycare.
I REALLY didn't want to take a sick day on Tuesday (after the 3 day weekend) when M.D. hadn't thrown up since Sunday and seemed perfectly healthy on Monday...SO I ran him to the doctor on Monday afternoon to get his "clean bill of health".
While waiting in the lobby he decided to try to pick up 1,000,000 other germs by playing with the waiting room toys (SIGH).

Rash checked out fine.
Long story, short...I ended up having to take a half-day on Tuesday anyways because even though he SEEMED to be feeling better, M.D. decided that he wasn't and proceeded to scream all morning at daycare until I came and picked him up.
We're back on the healthy bus now (knock on wood). And all is well again.
I PROMISE that I will have an update soon (with pictures) of the bathroom.
I have a serious problem with never-ending projects and this bathroom is the prime example.
It WAS done. But it's sort of like when you buy a new shirt, and then suddenly your old pants and shoes and earrings don't look cute anymore because the new shirt just looks so damn good. So then you have to go out and buy new pants, earrings, and shoes so everything works together!
Well, that's my bathroom.
It just needed new paint.
It got new paint.
And new towels.
And towel bars.
And shower curtain.
And rug.
And shelves.
So what's left? A few (small) accessories and the shower curtain needs to be raised (the bar was mounted too low by the previous owners and the curtain has always hung on the ground (which drives me nuts). WHY we did not think to do this BEFORE painting, don't ask. Now we will have to raise the bar (no pun intended) and then paint over the area where the old bar hung. SOOO it's not done yet. But it will be soon. I promise :)
