Goin' To the Zoo
This Saturday, Nana met M.D. and I at the local zoo. It was the first nice weather day we had in quite some time so the zoo was PACKED! Our lame joke of the day was that the, "zoo was a zoo!" We had a really good time in spite of the crowds. M.D. was not so much into the "land animals". When we were outside looking at exhibits he was more interested in the other little kids running around. He was a BIG fan of the penguins, seals, and fish. All-in-all it was a great time! M.D. got himself so wound up that he wouldn't nap when we got home (awesome). The result was the laughing baby video posted below.
Mama! Mama!
BIG milestone this weekend. M.D. expanded his vocabulary from "Dada" and "Babababa" to include the much-coveted "Mama". It was awesome. Time froze and I relished every moment of it. I can't wait to hear it for the next 100 years :)

Birthday Party :)
As much as I HATE to admit it, M.D.'s 1st birthday is coming up. He will be 9 months next week (YIKES!) and being such an OCD person I have already started planning his party. I hate leaving this to the last minute, and I really want this to be fun! I'm not revealing any details on the blog (except small hints) so it will be a surprise for those who come :) For everybody else I will post a detailed blog post with pictures & references to where everything came from AFTER the big day. Let's just say, thanks to Pinterest & Etsy, this will be a pretty sweet party. I am not the creative type, however, I've found some awesome ideas & resources off of these websites that are relatively easy to do and definitely inexpensive. I'm also VERY excited because my coworker has agreed to make M.D.'s birthday cake! She is amazingly talented, you can check out some of her other work on her blog.
I can share that I have found one project for his bday party that I'm very excited about. You can guess the theme if you'd like, these make it pretty obvious :) Let's just say we're "heading WEST" & you can get away with saying "Y'all" and "Giddy-up" as much as you'd like.
Now, this is a link to an Etsy account where they sell these glasses pre-made. I, however, will be undertaking the task of making them myself. It should be VERY easy. I have enlisted Steven's help to do the manual labor.

Home Project Update
I had previously mentioned that we did accomplish one of the tasks on my project list for this summer. Thank in large part to Grandpa John E. & Uncle Mark. We planted lilac bushes along the back boarder. They look adorable :) In a few years they will be big & fill in those spaces between the trees. I'm super excited!
