I am proud to say that I have accomplished yet another one of my projects I had posted in my earlier blog entry. You may recall that the first project knocked off the list was the bush boarder in the back yard. So far, we have kept those bushes alive. Major accomplishment. Last night I decided to take on the 2nd item on the list (also one that required no prep work, just a little muscle).
Project #2
You may recall me posting this picture of a small area in our downstairs family room that was currently serving as the office. I didnt' have a picture of it as our office, nor was it much to show off, so I had posted a picture the previous owner had put on the realtor page showing the spage with their staging:
Yesterday afternoon, Steven called and warned me it could end up being a late night of work. I realized I had spare time, and M.D. was perfectly content playing in the basement while I worked. All it really took was some organizing skills. I moved all of our office supplies (desk, computer, printer, file cabinet, bookshelf, etc.) to one of the spare bedrooms downstairs (we call it the storage room...it's FULL of baby supplies M.D. has already grown out of, and clothes he has yet to grow into). Then I simply moved all (but a few) toys down into the little cubby area. It still has decorating yet to be done BUT it works awesome for now!
There were still some toys left to be moved here when I took these pictures, however, they are all now happily in their new home. (Yes, Nana. Don't worry! Your music table is in the "new" playroom now. It is his favorite toy afterall!) I am even more excited for the bigger toys he will start to accumulate as they will fit perfectly in this space, and I wont' have to have a baby work bench or kitchen in MY kitchen :)
*Mini shout-out. You can see two of my 31 bags in the background. I LOVE these bags for baby stuff! We use the larger blue back (which I got a shower gift) to store all of the stuffed animals) and the smaller "M" bag we use to tote different smaller toys throughout the house (and in the car). BIG fan. When Steven's cousin (who sells 31 Things) gets done with her maternity break I am hoping to have a 31 Things party at our house. I LOVE BAGS!!! :)*

BooBoos :(
M.D. had his first big booboo last night. He's had smaller bumps for the past month or so (ever since he figured out this "crawling" thing.) This was a big one. I knew it was coming too. A while ago I posted on the blog that I wanted to sell our downstairs coffee table. I specifically remember stating it was "not baby friendly". Yeah, well it's not. The worst part, it's M.D.'s favorite "toy".
He thinks "toy", I think "death trap". He loves to crawl all over it. Pull himself up on it. We got bumpers for the corners, but it didn't matter. Every inch of this table is hard and it was bound to happen. The worst part, I was actually pulling him away from the table (to prevent a "bonk") when the "bonk" happened. He swung his head mid-carry and BAM! :(
Needless to say, the coffee table is now in the downstairs guest room. Our downstairs family room now looks enormous without it filling the space. I think we need a rug.
"Selfies"
M.D. took his first selfie's last night. When I think of the term "selfie" I usually conjure up an image of a 16 year old girl taking pictures of herself. I have never understood the point. Still don't. Take a picture of yourself WITH somebody else, or have SOMEBODY ELSE take a picture of you! Photos are supposed to (in my view) capture memorable moments in time. Can a moment really be that memorable when you're sitting home by yourself? I think it's ridiculous. However, when an almost-9-month-old takes selfies, it's adorable. I showed him how he could see himself on the iPhone reverse camera. BIG hit. He took photos, video, and tried to eat my phone about 100 times. It made the memory of the booboo LONG gone :)
