I know I sure as hell do.
And really...who doesn't?!
I have to argue, though, that parents of young children are among some of the LEAST likely people to start out 2014 with more money in their bank account.
Babies are expensive.
Not even just expensive...ridiculously exepensive.
Are they worth it? Yes.
Now, if you're like me, you're already trying to figure out ways to save money while raising a little one.
My biggest friend in this game...COUPONS.
I LOVE COUPONS.
If I can't buy something on sale or with a coupon, it's not happening.
I have to say, though, the whole process of "couponing" is way over my head.
I'm neither patient or organized enough to get the most out of clipping coupons.
Let me give you an example of how this works (doesn't work) in my life.
-Sunday morning...go grab the paper.
Oooo look at all of the great baby coupons!
Well there's one in this flier, another in this flier, another in that one...
Clip...Clip...Clip.
MD! Don't touch Mommy's coupons please!
Oh, you put that one in your mouth? Okay, well I guess we didn't need $0.50 off wipes anyways..right? (Yes, we did).
Okay I'm going to put them in an envelope.
I don't have an envelope.
I'll put them in my bilfold.
That's full of old coupons that I don't feel like going through right now.
I'll put them in our kitchen drawer.
Yes! Kitchen drawer! Perfect!
2 months later...
DAMNIT! These are all expired!!!!
So, imagine my excitement when I was approached by Alana with Shopper Incite who wanted me to help spread the word about Mommy Savings.
What is Mommy Savings, you may ask?
Well, doesn't the name say enough?!
Mommy Savings is a quarterly coupon book (that is free) which can save you TONS on every day items you'd be buying anyways for your little one.
Best part...it's FREE!
No junk mail, no gimmicks, no selling your address to other sales companies...it's all good.
As my usual rule goes, I asked Alana to send me a copy of one of the coupon books to scope it out.
I wasn't going to waste your time if it wasn't worth it.
Oh...but IT IS!!!
This is the Q3 coupon book which expires at the end of December.
That means all ya'll get the opportunity to sign up for the Q1 book for next year which comes out January 1st.
So what is it?
It's a coupon book/shopping planner/meal planner/milestone tracker/advice giver/etc.
Not only does the book hold manufacturer coupons for MULTIPLE brands, but it also gives hints & tips for various things such as meal planning, life stage, and more.
LOTS of coupons.
This book is much thicker than I expected, and literally every other page is full of coupons.
Diapers, wipes, bath products, toys, clothes...everything.
And we're talking QUALITY brand names.
Stuff for moms too (as you can see, Pantene coupons were some of those included in the Q3 book)!
The best comparison I can make, is to the Target coupon book that I get every few months with coupons (only to be used at Target) that are all baby related. It's really helpful that they put them all together so you don't have to clip & sort yourself. Except this book has literally 10+ times the coupons in that Target mailer. It's awesome.
There's nothing like having something in mind that you want to purchase for your little one, and then finding a coupon to match.
It's like magic!
So I've been wanting to buy a Crane humidifier for MD's room (because they're adorable) but I NEVER find them on sale.
Oh, but here I found a coupon for $15 off.
Yes, Please!
Alana sent me 2 coupon books to review. They were the same book, but just so I'd have a few to look at.
I sat down on the floor and started going through the contents.
MD, inevitably, came over to where I was and tried to steal my book.
Luckily, I had 2, and saw an opportunity to really put this book to the test. So I gave him the one I was looking at to "play with".
MD (as I mentioned in an earlier post) is EXTREMELY rough, especially when it comes to paper products. He loves to rip paper. So I wanted to see how well this coupon book could hold up to MD's rough-housing.
Needless to say, it was successful. The pages of the coupon book are nice and thick so they don't rip easily (except at the coupon perforation of course). MD flipped through those pages like he was reading the book himself, albiet an upside-down book.
No rips...no tears...success!!
So here's the nitty gritty, this company is still in the beginning stages with this product, meaning that you have serious inside-scoop.
At this point they're still tracking different demographics/stores/success/etc.
That is why Alana asked if my readers would be interested in being included in this initial group of coupon books (I, of course, said that you would be).
So what does this mean for you?
You get a free coupon book.
End of story.
They will not contact you in any way, other than to send your book(s) to save money with.
So HOW, Laurel, do I sign up for this amazing offer?
Simple, click here.
Type in your first name & email address.
But Laurel, why aren't they asking for my address?
Well, that's the one little trick.
In order for their official launch to work, they need to have a large group of moms who will be receiving their flier.
So, once you sign up you are on the list. Your spot is reserved. Once they reach their number (which they are hoping will be by Jan 1st) you will get an email requesting your address so they can mail you your very own coupon book.
But Laurel, I don't want to WAIT for my coupon book!
I completely understand.
Patience is not a gift of mine either.
So here's what you can do...SHARE THIS POST!
The more people you can get to sign up for the coupon book the faster they will reach the number needed to send them out.
So share this info with all of your mommy friends and we help speed this process along!
Don't forget to sign yourself up here!
