Stop Being So Sensitive...

Don't babies have the most wonderful skin?? It's clean, soft, and smells delicious. What can come between baby and this perfect skin? Rashes, dry skin, diaper rash...ish. M.D. has somewhat sensitive skin. He's not at the point where we can only use certain diapers or very specific lotions, however, we have had to go through quite a few bath products in order to find one that didn't cause him to break out in rashes.

Here are some of the products I have found very useful in combating his sensitive skin issues:

Dreft, Johnson & Johnson Hand & Face Wipes, Aveeno Calming Comfort Lotion, BearHands
Dreft: I know, I know...this shit is expensive. It smells delicious though, and works wonders for babies with sensitive skin. We got a ton of this gifted to us at various showers so once we are done with it I will probably switch to a more cost-effective free&clear detergent, but until then I'm a big fan of the expensive stuff.

Johnson & Johnson Hand & Face Wipes: J&J hasn't given me the best experiences with baby M.D. I found their bath products to be particularly harsh (though the commercials would tell me otherwise...) and they definitely were rash-causing for little M.D. I am an advocate, however, for these wipes. They are GREAT for dried-on-milk-face, sticky/dirty hands (M.D. has started sticking his hands in my food if he's on my lap when I'm snacking...) and just general quick clean-up.

Aveeno Calming Lotion: This actually goes along with the Aveeno Calming Bath. We tried multiple different brands/scents/unscents of bath&lotion products before settling on this brand/scent. First of all, the Aveeno brand is known for being awesome for sensitive skinned babies. We have had no rashes, dry skin patches, or other signs of irritation from using both the bath & lotion. Second, the "calming" part actually works. At first I figured it was all a hoax to sell more product, but the scent actually does calm M.D. down. It's great for bathtime right before bedtime!

BearHands: These are not so much about the brand as just the mitten in general. In these frigid MN winters we have needed to watch M.D.'s hands closely. They get extra dry because he always has them in his mouth...and then we heard out into the freezing temperatures with wet hands (which turn into extra dry irritated hands). I love these mittens in particular because they are ADORABLE.
